Solvang sets July 4 parade, festival and fireworks for Saturday

Solvang hosts its Independence Day celebration this Saturday with a parade by the Solvang Rotary Club and fireworks at Old Mission Santa Inés.

SOLVANG, Calif., July 2 (Santa Ynez News) — Solvang will mark Independence Day on Saturday with a morning concert, a downtown parade and an afternoon-to-evening fireworks festival, giving visitors a daylong holiday schedule concentrated along Mission Drive, according to the Solvang Events Calendar.

The Santa Ynez Valley Wind Ensemble is scheduled to perform a patriotic concert at 9 a.m. in Solvang Park, 1630 Mission Drive, followed by the 4th of July Parade at 10 a.m. The parade is set to begin at Mission and Alisal Road and is presented by the Solvang Rotary Club. The calendar lists the parade theme as “Salute to America 250.”

The Fireworks Festival is scheduled from noon to 10 p.m. at Old Mission Santa Inés, 1760 Mission Drive, and is hosted by the Santa Ynez Valley Rotary Club. Organizers list more than 20 food and merchant vendors, a Kids Zone, live entertainment and a food court with Central Coast food trucks. Fireworks are scheduled for about 9 p.m.

A separate July 4 barbecue and fireworks event is also listed at Alisal River Grill from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with fireworks at 9 p.m., according to the event calendar.
