DETROIT, June 22 (Our Michigan Times) — Article highlights:

  • Chevrolet says the 2027 Silverado 1500 will be its most powerful Silverado ever.
  • The truck adds new 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter V8 engines while keeping four powertrain choices.
  • Chevrolet says the pickup will go on sale later this year, with pricing due later this year.

Chevrolet introduced the next-generation 2027 Silverado 1500 on June 16, saying the full-size pickup will be the “most powerful Silverado ever” and will reach buyers later this year.

The automaker says the new truck will offer next-generation 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter V8 engines, along with the enhanced 2.7-liter TurboMax and the Duramax 3.0-liter turbo-diesel. Chevrolet also said the 2027 Silverado 1500 now has the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine in its class.

Chevrolet did not release horsepower, torque or fuel-economy figures in the announcement.

The company says every 2027 Silverado 1500 will come with a modern digital cockpit, including a 16.3-inch center display and a 12.2-inch driver information center as standard equipment. ZR2 and High Country trims add an 11.5-inch front passenger screen and are paired with a head-up display and rear camera mirror.

Chevrolet says the truck will be sold in seven models: ZR2, High Country, Trail Boss, Silverado, Custom Trail Boss, Custom and WT.

Pricing will be announced later this year, according to Chevrolet, which says the truck is expected to go on sale at the end of the year.

The launch adds a new model year to Chevrolet’s Silverado lineup as automakers continue to update large pickups with more advanced cabin technology and fresh engine choices.
